When I got home yesterday, these guys were lined up at the top of the stairs just outside The Private’s room. I don’t know what it was, but just seeing them all lined up there, knowing that she put thought and effort into deciding if the dinosaurs should stand next to the elephants that just KILLED me.
Then if that wasn’t enough she broke the cuteness barriers by sitting down at the piano with me (we just got a piano!!!) and learned the first line of Joni Mitchell’s Blue as a surprise for The Commander. If you know the song, it starts with a long run which she did a pretty good approximation of for a three year-old!
These little moments make the tantrums, the writing on the walls, the writing on the computer monitor, the breaking of many, many household items seem totally insignificant.
And yes, I realize that that running the dust mop over my floors might not be such a bad idea.
